Just weeks after launch, the iPhone 15 began experiencing issues that have only increased in number.
Apple admits iPhone 15 overheating issues: These are the reasons why iPhone overheats
Software update fix
While the reception has been mostly positive, there have been owners, not just Apple critics, who have reported problems.
However, the bright side is that most of these can be fixed with a software update that Apple says is in the works.
Excessive heating
Users complain that the device overheats, especially during rigorous gaming sessions.
High-quality 4K video also reportedly causes these problems.
Others have also said that simply charging the device causes the temperature to rise, and some say it is difficult to hold during a call.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the issue has to do with compromises made in the iPhone 15’s thermal design to “achieve lighter weight.”
Freezing during setup
Some devices have experienced crashing issues when trying to transfer data from their previous iPhone.
Apple rectified this with an iOS update released on launch day.
Users can locate the option to update to the new iOS in the settings.
slow iOS
Some complain of delays or irregularities during use.
This likely has to do with the latest iOS 17.
Additionally, many apps likely haven’t released an update for either iOS 17 or the new iPhone, which may contribute to the problem.
easily breakable
The biggest issue so far is durability, which unfortunately can’t be fixed with a software update.
Some long-time users report that the newer model breaks much more easily than older models.
YouTuber JerryRigEverything posted a video in which he pressed the back of the device with his fingers and the back of the iPhone 15 quickly cracked.
While the average user wouldn’t do something similar intentionally, it would be a real concern for those sitting on it with it in their pocket.
In this case, it is advisable to purchase a case.
